MAN-BAT PROTOTYPE

This elusive figure proves finally that there was a fourth series in the works when production was shut down on the Super Powers Collection.

The photos of this prototype are actually shots of a resin casting made from the original.
Interestingly, the Man-Bat's mouth is wide open, and there are veins visible on his arms, not to mention that he has nipples.

The level of detail that went into this sculpture leaves the collector drooling over what must have been the most ambitious assortment yet. Hopefully, more of these prototypes will show up as time goes by.

Special thanks go to Jason and Jeff Liebig, whose collection this figure is from, and again to Jeff Liebig who graciously went to the trouble to take these photos.

Here's a Man-Bat casting that was painted by Charlie Jackam for Mark Waid. Click here to see more of Charlie's great custom work! Too bad we all can't have a figure that looks this nice!
